SUCU Newsletter

It's been a two weeks since the last newsletter, but we're back with details of what's coming up...

Thank You

We can't start this newsletter without acknowledging the amazing work that went into Events Week by you all. Thank you! It wouldn't have been possible without the prayer, time and effort that was poured into it. Please continue to be praying for all those who came and heard the Good News and that conversations with them would continue

Unite is back! We'll be in the usual place tonight, Building 32, Room 1015 from 19.30. This week we have Chris Kilby speaking to us as he asks 'Is God worth it?' We'll also have an opportunity this evening for a Q&A session after Chris's talk. Whether you've been before or not, we'd love for you to join us for this evening of prayer, sung worship and hearing from the Bible

Please make sure to pick up and pay for any jumpers as well as collect any items from our large selection of lost property (including many a cake tin)

Don't forget Pre-Unite Prayer will be taking place outside the lecture theatre from 19.00

Our Other Weekly Events

Inside Out | Big Prayer Meeting | International Café | Hall Groups | Text a Toastie

And our weekly events are back too! No need to have done anything before, just turn up and get involved with our different outreach opportunities!

More details for the above events can be found on our Website and Calendar

In addition to our weekly events, we also have our Discover course. Running for four weeks and following on from what was heard during Relevant?, this weekly meeting is a perfect opportunity to explore questions surrounding the Christian Faith

The first meeting was yesterday but you can jump on at any point. Meet at Bar 2 at 19.30 each Thursday - we'll either stay there or head over to another room together. Please be inviting your friends and offering to come with them

Forum South East

This is an amazing weekend run by UCCF seeking to equip members of Christian Unions who love Jesus and want to share the Good News! It's next weekend (2nd-4th March) and is at St Mary's Church in Basingstoke. More info and details of how to book can be found on the website. The more the merrier! Speak to myself or Niv if you have further questions

With the AGM approaching (see below...), we're getting ready to hand over to our successors. For Sarah, that means sorting out all the money! If you owe SUCU money (either from SEBWA's Giving Auction, for unpaid jumpers or something else) or SUCU owes you money (you need reimbursing for something), please contact Sarah ASAP at It would be a great help to her and will save her having to chase you! Our bank details are:

Annual General Meeting

In under a week, on Wednesday 28th February at 14.00* we'll be hosting our AGM. Here we'll be looking back at the year and hearing of how God's been at work. In this time we'll also be holding the elections for 2018-19's Committee. If you can make it, please do make it a priority

For more details on the AGM and our election, please check out our video guide. And please do request to be a member before you come to Highfield Church - it'll make things much easier

Supporting Chichester Christian Union

Last week we were blessed to be joined by a number of CU Guests from local churches and from further afield. One group who supported us in our mission, were members of Chichester Christian Union and we'd love to return the favour. Their Events Week starts Monday 12th March. If you want to get involved, speak with Emily Dee and we'll organise plans!

Dates for the Diary

Lunch Time Talk - Friday 9th March - venue tbc - 12.00 & 13.00

Thanks for reading and I'll see you later this evening!
